Appeal to identify potential victim following reported assault in Bournemouth |

Officers are appealing for a potential victim to come forward following a reported assault in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police received a report at 5.13am on Saturday 1 August 2026 of a disturbance in The Square.
It was reported that a male victim had been punched and kicked during an altercation with two men.
Officers attended but it was reported that the victim had left the scene prior to their arrival. He is described as white, of slim build, believed to be aged in his 40s and around five feet nine inches tall. He was wearing a green and white jacket and the rest of his clothing was black.
A 21-year-old man from Bognor Regis in Sussex was arrested and subsequently dealt with by way of a community resolution for a public order offence.
A 19-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of affray and is reported to have assaulted officers as they went to detain him, so he was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Police Constable Macey Horlock, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and we are keen to identify the potential victim and take his account of what happened, as well as establish whether he needs any further support.
“I would urge the man involved to please come forward and make contact with us.
“I am also keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with further information that might assist our enquiries.”
